Editorial Policy

How we research, write, and revise.

Sourcing

Every factual claim is anchored to at least one of the following: a public government source (NC DPI, Union County GIS, town minutes), a reputable commercial dataset (Canopy MLS, Niche.com), or first-hand reporting. Pages that lean on commercial data carry a "Sources" section.

Originality

Guides are written in-house. AI tools may assist with first drafts, outlines, and summarization; every published paragraph is reviewed and edited by a human before publishing.

Sponsorships & conflicts

Sponsors fund hosting and editorial time. Sponsors never receive guaranteed placement, ranking, or favorable language in our guides. When a sponsor is also a subject of a story, the relationship is disclosed inline.

Affiliate links

We do not currently use affiliate links. If we add them, they will be marked.

Corrections

Spot an error? Email corrections to our editorial team. Verified corrections are applied to the page, and the "Updated" date on that page is bumped to reflect the revision.

User-generated content

Discover Waxhaw does not host user-generated content. Any quotes attributed to residents, visitors, or business owners are paraphrased from public statements or first-hand interviews.

Privacy

We log anonymous pageview data to understand which guides are useful. We do not sell visitor data. See the disclaimer in our site footer for the full privacy notice.
