An independent editorial guide to Waxhaw.

Discover Waxhaw exists for one reason: most of what's written about southern Union County is either a real-estate listing or a paid promotion. We wanted a calmer, more honest portrait — one that takes the place seriously as a place to live, not just a place to transact in.

Editorial mission

We publish long-form guides to the communities, schools, civic life, and physical landscape of Waxhaw, Marvin, Weddington, and their neighbors. Every guide is researched against public sources (county records, NC DPI, MLS aggregates, town minutes) and updated when those sources change.

Discover Waxhaw is sponsored by a small circle of Charlotte-area firms whose work is referenced in the footer of every page. Sponsorship pays for hosting, photography, and editorial time. It does not buy placement in our guides, ranking in our lists, or favorable treatment in our writing. When a sponsor is also a subject (a builder mentioned in a community story, for example), we note the relationship inline.

Corrections

We aim for accuracy, not omniscience. If you spot something wrong — a closed restaurant, an out-of-date enrollment figure, a renamed road — we want to know. Corrections are folded into the next revision and the page's "Updated" date is bumped.
