Country club culture in greater Waxhaw is less about exclusivity than about gathering. Tennis clinics, junior camps, swim teams, Sunday brunch, and Friday twilight scrambles are what most members talk about — the golf is excellent, but it's the calendar that holds the membership together.

Initiation at the area's top private clubs ranges from approximately $35,000 to $75,000 depending on membership category, with monthly dues between $850 and $1,400. Most clubs publish a "tap-in" rate for newly-relocated members within their first ninety days in the region — a discount worth asking about during a relocation tour.
